Event Details
If you'd like to become a naturalized U.S. citizen, attend this 12-week series to prepare for the citizenship test in a small, online group. Content includes American history, civics, speaking, and reading and writing in English. The first class introduces the course and materials.
Classes meet 7-8:45 PM on the following Tuesdays: January 27; February 3, 10, 17, 24; March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; April 7, 14.
This is a live Zoom instructional course. Registrants will receive an invitation link with instructions on how to log into the class.
By registering for week 1 of the Citizenship Preparation Class, you will automatically be enrolled in all 12 weeks of the class.
Registration will be available for VAPLD cardholders beginning Monday, December 1, 2025 at 9:00 AM. If space allows, all other patrons can register beginning on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM.
Your name, email, and phone number will be shared with HIAS so that they can contact you to obtain additional pre-registration information, and to verify registration.
Verified registrants may pick up a free textbook at the library beginning Monday, January 5 through Tuesday, January 27.
