Event Details

Plant vegetables in the library with the help of master gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension Office.  Learn about gardening basics and then dig in to plant.  All produce from the Library Garden is donated to the Vernon Township Food Pantry. RAINDATE: June 4 at 11am.

Optional: Sign up for a week to help tend the garden and deliver harvested vegetables to the nearby pantry during the growing season.


This outdoor event takes place on the Annex Lawn

The Library Annex is located at 4 Indian Creek Road, behind the main library building. [MAP]

Limited parking is available in the Library Annex lot; enter from Indian Creek Road, off of Olde Half Day Road. Or park at the back of the main library parking lot and follow the signs to the Annex.

Seating will not be provided by the library. Please bring a blanket or chairs; a hat and water bottle are recommended. You may also want sunscreen or bug spray. Portable restrooms are available.
