Event Details

Stephen Sondheim reshaped American musical theater in the 20th century. From his early days as lyricist for "West Side Story" and "Gypsy" to serving as composer and lyricist for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Company,"  and "Sunday in the Park with George." Sondheim’s originality and genius shine through.  Music historian Susan Benjamin shares examples of Sondheim's genius and stories of how talent and mentorship combined to bring forth unbridled creativity.
