Free Comic Book Day

Held each year on the first Saturday in May, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when publishers, distributors and retail stores across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free in an effort to introduce more readers to comics.

Public libraries get in on the act, too, by partnering with a local comic shop. At this library, our longtime event partner is Dreamland Comics Libertyville.

Giveaways are ongoing throughout the day, while supplies last.
