Photographer and sociologist David Schalliol photographed one hundred Chicago buildings destined to be demolished in 2012. Ten years later, he returned to document what had changed at each of those building sites. Tragically, he found empty lots where South and West side buildings were demolished and developments in place of demolished North Side buildings. The contrast of then-and-now โ and how location plays a leading role โ is part of the photo project โAfter Demolition." Learn about this fascinating project and striking photography with Mr. Schalliol, a sociology professor at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
